Five things to know about Monday’s game
1) Rosario broke a 3-3 tie with an RBI single off Drew Steckenrider with two runners on and one out in the top of the ninth.
Alonso then followed with a 444-foot homer to center field to give the Mets a four-run lead.2) Edwin Diaz pitched into and out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the bottom of the ninth. After a leadoff walk and back-to-back singles, Diaz struck out Jorge Alfaro, Peter O’Brien and pinch hitter JT Riddle to end the game.
