Amed Rosario hit a go-ahead RBI single and Pete Alonso broke the game open with a three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning as the Mets beat the Miami Marlins 7-3 on Monday at Marlins Park. >> Box score

Five things to know about Monday’s game

1) Rosario broke a 3-3 tie with an RBI single off Drew Steckenrider with two runners on and one out in the top of the ninth.

Alonso then followed with a 444-foot homer to center field to give the Mets a four-run lead.

2) Edwin Diaz pitched into and out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the bottom of the ninth. After a leadoff walk and back-to-back singles, Diaz struck out Jorge Alfaro, Peter O’Brien and pinch hitter JT Riddle to end the game.

3) Steven Matz settled down after a rough first inning, giving up three runs (one earned) and six hits in 5 1/3 innings.
