Spider-Man: Homecoming Director On Which Avengers Peter Should Work With

The introduction of Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe delighted many fans, as it allows the web-slinger to interact with many of Marvel’s other live-action characters.

While Peter Parker will partner up with Iron Man in next month’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, early reports are saying that the sequel will connect him with another MCU hero.

Although the film is still in its earliest stages, Homecoming director Jon Watts – who is likely to return for the sequel – has a few ideas as to who the mystery hero should be.

In a recent interview with ScreenRant, the director suggested several different members of the Avengers for Spider-Man to team up with – including fan-favorite Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

“I like to think of what he could learn from Black Widow, but then I think he would be too nervous to even get a single word out.” Watts joked. “If he was around her, that would be really funny.”

We actually brought up the possibility of Black Widow joining the Homecoming sequel earlier this week, suggesting that the pair could form a dynamic mentor-mentee relationship. Aside from both having insect-related alter-egos, the two have a pretty lengthy comic book relationship, giving the film plenty of content to draw inspiration from.

Another one of Watts’ suggestions was none other than Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans).
