Gamescom, the massive European gaming conference that takes place annually, kicks off in a couple of weeks in Cologne, Germany. Many developers use Gamescom to show off their latest games, but this year it seems the show may also be the launching pad for some hot, new hardware – specifically NVIDIA’s next-generation consumer GPUs.
NVIDIA’s Pascal GPU architecture, which is the foundation of the GeForce GTX 10 series of graphics cards, was released all the way back in 2016. The entire range of GPUs has been wildly successful for NVIDIA and the flagship models remain the fastest gaming GPUs currently available. AMD’s Radeon RX Vega cards closed the performance gap with the GeForce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, but AMD hasn’t been able to approach the performance levels…
