On July 24, the Hendricks County Animal Shelter in Danville, Indiana posted a request on Facebook for donations of cat food.
No one responded.
“Usually when we post something like that, people come in and we get some bags of food or whatever we ask for,” said LaDonna Hughes, chief director of the HCAS.
“I realized nobody responded. It was kind of weird.”But after their second plea was shared by local news website IndyStar.com, the donations have been pouring in from all over the country.
