On this day 110 years ago, the Queensboro Bridge in New York City, also known as the 59th Street Bridge, opened, linking Manhattan and Queens. No tolls are charged on the two-level double cantilever bridge, which includes a pedestrian walkway and bicycle path. Designated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, it was designed by Leffert L.
