It’s been just over a week since 31,000 Stop & Shop employees went on strike across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The union employees are protesting wage and benefit cuts and changes to their health care plans.
The workers who are striking outside the stores owned by parent company Ahold Delhaize are urging customers to shop elsewhere and to not cross the picket line.
New data from a local company that uses mobile location technology to analyze trends show the strike is having a significant impact on store traffic.
According to Skyhook, when the Stop & Shop strike started on April 12, many customers did not go grocery shopping.
