WASHINGTON (WTHR) – A produce distributor is recalling fruit sold at several popular retailers due to bacteria concerns.
Jac. Vandenberg, Inc. out of New York has recalled hundreds of cases of nectarines, peaches and plums that have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
That bacteria could cause serious, and sometimes fatal, infections in young children, frail or elderly people and those with weakened immune systems.The fruits were distributed to ALDI, Costco and Walmart, among other stores nationwide.
