TV picks for Sunday, Nov. 19

“American Music Awards” (8 p.m., ABC): Here’s another chance for trophy-deprived pop stars to collect some fancy hardware. But it should be fun.

Superstars Kelly Clarkson and Pink will open the show, performing together for the first time. Diana Ross, will also take the stage for a rare performance and will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement award. But that’s not all: Christina Aguilera will pay tribute to Whitney Houston and music from “The Bodyguard.” Other performers include, among others, BTS, Selena Gomez, Niall Horan, Imagine Dragons, Khalid, Nick Jonas, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes. Bruno Mars leads all nominees with eight, including a nod for Artist of the Year.
