Marvel and ABC will make their third foray into television when The Inhumans debuts later this September. And though the Marvel series will premiere on IMAX screens across the country, the show will have more in common with fellow small screen offerings than it will with its MCU counterparts.
Though Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took Inhumans off the docket of movie releases and the project got retooled for Marvel Television, a lot of the lore has already been fleshed out on the flagship program, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
And while Marvel’s The Inhumans will not be a direct spinoff of the action/espionage program, it will be affected by some of the events that have taken place according to showrunner Scott Buck.
“Things that have happened on S.H.I.E.L.D. will potentially affect our show as well,” Buck said to Entertainment Weekly.
