The pilot in the helicopter crash that claimed Troy Gentry’s life reported “mechanical issues” before the crash. Accord to audio obtained by The Blast, pilot James Robinson tried to hover above ground while waiting for emergency crews to arrive.
Sadly, the helicopter eventually tumbled below into a field at around 1 p.
m. on Friday. Both Gentry and Robinson perished in the crash. Gentry was pulled from the passenger seat and taken to the hospital before being pronounced dead. He was 50 years old.According to the dispatch, Robinson called in to Burlington County, N.J. requesting emergency services. He hoped for aid to arrive prior to attempting an emergency landing. He kept the helicopter hovering as long as he could.
