60 years ago today, the musical soundtrack to the Oscar-winning film South Pacific rose to No.1 on the UK album chart. The songs written by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and performed by Mitzi Gaynor and Giorgio Tozzi, include Some Enchanted Evening, Happy Talk, and I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair.
