For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, summer has just ended and most people will probably forget sunscreen for the next 9 months. This commenter, however, thinks we need to delete it from our lives altogether.
“SPF causes cancer,” the mystery person said. Now let’s ignore the fact that SPF is simply a measure of how effective a sunscreen protects the skin, and as such is simply nonsensical.
Although to be fair, the original poster started it with the SPF talk.No amount of “SPF” exists in the world to protect from the burn that was to follow however. The ignorance of the cancer claim was ruthlessly exposed in a wide-ranging and informative response, which basically brought the argument to a close with a standing ovation.
