If you want to make crispy French fries or delicious doughnuts, you can easily use a wok, saucepan, stockpot, or deep fryer to make fried foods at home! Be careful, as the oil is very hot!

With some preparation and attention, you can easily make fried foods, like candy bars, ice cream, and mozzarella sticks.

To deep fry at home, fill a pot with canola or vegetable oil to about half the depth of the food you’ll be frying. Turn the burner to high, and heat the oil to about 350 °F. If you don’t have a deep fry thermometer, you can check to see if the oil is ready by throwing a pinch of flour to the oil and checking to see if it sizzles. Once the oil is hot enough, place your food in the oil slowly using tongs or a deep fry spoon, then remove when the food is golden brown. Drain on stacked paper towels, then serve!
