Katie Couric is leaving her full-time post at Yahoo and is also departing agency CAA for WME.
The journalist had been global anchor for Yahoo News — a position created for her in 2013.
She re-upped with a $10 million deal in 2015, the same year she became a special contributor for ABC News as part of an expanded partnership between the two companies. Rather than extending her contract with Yahoo parent company Oath, Couric has struck a pact to work with the Verizon subsidiary on a project basis.“I’m very proud of my time at Yahoo anchoring live events, political coverage and breaking news with a team of very talented journalists,” Couric said in a statement provided to THR. “Over the past three years, we have produced a wide range of high-quality video content that was delivered to millions of viewers. I learned some valuable lessons during my tenure, which I will take with me as I continue to create, develop and produce a variety of content for different platforms in this constantly evolving landscape.”
