The seemingly silly #PuberMe call-out resulted in a hilarious string of truly cringe-inducing pics from the likes of Sarah Silverman, Judd Apatow and, of course, Colbert and Kroll. Colbert explained on Thursday night’s show (Sept. 28) that he and his staff typically wait until the end of the year to get together to figure out which charity they want to help with proceeds from the sale of his Ben & Jerry’s Americone Dream ice cream flavor. But in light of the devastation in Puerto Rico and the immediate response to their call out, Colbert and Kroll have now revealed how much money they plan to donate through the #PuberMe campaign.
“It was honestly a spur-of-the-moment idea and I had no idea how much money we had to give,” Colbert said, revealing that he had to cut some of the Kroll interview out when it originally aired on Wednesday until he checked on the balance in the ice cream account. He then showed the unaired bit where he told Kroll how much he would donate per celebrity tweet. “I have no idea how much money you have Stephen… $1000!,” Kroll said.
