Giving competition to music apps like Smule, Harmony Helper said it plans to launch an app that gives singers a digital rehearsal room. The technology creates a learning tool that can do things like provide customizable sheet music scanning, vocal part mapping, real-time feedback, record/playback, vocal part volume control, group sharing, and more.
It’s aimed at helping singers of all skill levels prepare for their time in the spotlight. The app is expected to debut in the second quarter on iOS and Android.
“We are thrilled to debut Harmony Helper to the singing community,” said Andrew Goren, founder and CEO of Harmony Helper, in a statement. “As a musical theatre actor myself, I know the hassles of practicing for a performance can leave singers feeling frustrated and unprepared. My own experiences have inspired me to develop the solution that empowers singers with great rehearsals and helps them feel confident.”

Harmony Helper’s new sheet music scanner is unique. Users take a photo of any sheet music and upload it into the app, where it is presented in an easy-to-read format that allows custom isolation of their part.
This feature makes all music available to practice the moment a singer is ready to begin learning. For singers who are just learning or struggle with reading sheet music, this patented technology eliminates the friction to allow the aspiring singer to practice.
