Ross is not new to extreme challenges. In January, he attempted to swim 100km in the Caribbean carrying a 100lb tree. Later that year he accomplished the world’s longest rope climb in less than 24 hours. He managed to climb the height of Mount Everest — 8,848 meters (29,029 feet).
On June he decided to embark on a new challenge – The Great British Swim.The journey didn’t come without a cost. To have enough energy for the swim he had to consume 15,000 calories per day. Within the first few weeks of his quest challenges began to arise. “I woke up this morning with chunks of my tongue on my pillow,” Ross said in one of the video updates he made throughout the journey.
