Plenty of big names are channeling their inner Beyoncé in honor of the superstar singer’s 36th birthday on Monday — including Michelle Obama.
The former first lady and 17 other women united for a special tribute on Beyoncé’s official website, with each woman recreating the same iconic look from the singer’s “Formation” music video.
Tennis star (and new mom) Serena Williams and Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland also participated in the tribute, as did Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter, mom Tina Knowles Lawson, husband JAY-Z’s mom, Gloria Carter, and his grandmother, Hattie White.
In the striking black and white photo collection, each woman is sporting a look similar to Beyoncé’s in her “Formation” video.
Wearing black dresses, ornate necklaces and braided pigtails, the women are pictured bowing their heads beneath wide-brimmed black hats, shielding their eyes as Beyoncé did in the video from her visual album Lemonade.
“Happy Birthday Beyoncé from Your Family and Friends,” reads a caption the top of the page.
But the project is more than just an homage to Beyoncé. Another message urges fans to donate to relief efforts…
