Update (Nov. 7, 3:05 p.m.): A Walt Disney Company spokesperson released a statement announcing that the company is lifting the ban on the Los Angeles Times: “We’ve had productive discussions with the newly installed leadership at The Los Angeles Times regarding our specific concerns, and as a result, we’ve agreed to restore access to advance screenings for their film critics.

The conversation surrounding Disney’s retaliatory ban against the Los Angeles Times ballooned beyond entertainment journalism circles this week as several prominent filmmakers showed support for the newspaper.
