As John Legend, Janelle Monae and now Chance the Rapper criticize Kanye West’s Twitter love for President Donald Trump, the rapper and social media provocateur can expect at least one celebrity to have his back: Anthony Scaramucci

In fact, the short-lived former White House communications director has hinted that he is West’s secret texting buddy, the individual named “Anthony” or “A.S.,” who has been encouraging him to continue his pro-Trump messages, according to the Daily Mail.
In this way, Scaramucci could be West’s secret backchannel to the president, letting him know that the president likes how he thinks.
Scaramucci on Thursday praised West for not being afraid to speak up for the president. The Mooch was talking to reporters after giving a talk at the National Press Club Thursday.
“Why not? Why not? Kanye has a voice,” Scaramucci said.
But Scaramucci wouldn’t confirm that he’s Anthony or A.S. While Scaramucci was ignominiously ousted from the White House after 10 short days on the job last summer, he told the Associated Press in November that he talks the the president’s inner circle on a regular basis and considers himself to be “a media surrogate.”
West revealed in one of his more than 80 tweets Wednesday that he had been in contact with Anthony or A.S., sharing a screen shot of their exchange. A.S. wrote, “Whoa here we go” and shared a tweet from Chance the Rapper, who earlier Wednesday defended his friend West. Chance the Rapper had tweeted: “Black people don’t have to be Democrats.”
By Friday, Chance the Rapper expressed regret for speaking up about West’s Trump controversy, Billboard reported. Trump is seen by Legend, Monae and many others as stoking racist and alt-right sentiments in the United States.
