We already know that Donald Trump opted out on attending the White House Correspondents dinner, but Samantha Bee was sure to have at least one president at her event, ‘Not The White House Correspondents Dinner.’
Will Ferrell appeared on the show dressed as none other than George W. Bush himself. The actor hilariously roasted Trump using his George Dubya impersonation the entire time.
“The prodigal son has returned. I don’t know what that means, but I know it’s positive. It’s very prodigal. Quick presidential update: I’m doing quite well, thank you. History has proven to be kinder to me than many of you thought. For the longest time, I was considered the worst president of all time. That has changed. And it only took 100 days! I needed 8 years, a catastrophic flood, a war built on a lie, an economic disaster. The new guy needed 100 days. He is now widely considered the worst president of all time. I come in second. I’m fine by that. No one remembers second place.”
Ferrell’s “Bush” then poked fun at his relationship with the press during his presidency much to the interest of the Bee’s crowd in attendance which included hundreds of reporters and news heads from various outlets across media.
