VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The 3-day Something in the Water Festival at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront comes to a close Sunday night and all signs point to it being a success.
Tens of thousands of people descended on the resort city to hear major names in the music industry perform, and there have been no major incidents to report.
Virginia Beach native, superstar and event organizer Pharrell Williams sat down with WAVY News 10’s Aesia Toliver on the final day of the festival. He says the weekend showed Virginia is open for business.
“I’ll say it like this… music was definitely the thread that threaded everything together, but the fabric of what happened this weekend and what’s going on is so much bigger,” said Williams.
Business owners say this weekend used to come with a negative vibe, but Pharrell bringing the Something in the Water Festival to the Oceanfront was a game changer.
