In case you needed a reminder that there are some truly, truly repulsive people in this world, I present to you the story of the manager who tried to fire an employee for taking time off because her son was on life support.
It seriously boggles my mind that I even had to type that last sentence, let alone that someone actually DID that, because seriously how can anyone be that heartless?
Crystal Reynolds Fisher is an employee at PS Food Mart in Michigan.
After her manager – identified as a woman named Dawn – refused to give her time off to be with her son (who, again, was on freakin’ life support!) despite the fact that she gave 48 hours notice, Crystal posted their exchange to Facebook, where it quickly went viral.
Crystal wrote, “I’m just letting you know that my son is still on life support so until he is out of the [bed] I will not be able to make it to work, I can let you know as soon as he starts to get better so I can return to work with no problems.”
Dawn responded by saying if she couldn’t come into work, “that’s quitting.”
